The congress took place in association with the 5th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Head and Neck Societyin the Sofitel Hotel in Melbourne.
Patron was Peter Doherty AC, FAA, FRS, Laureate Professor at the University of Melbourne,ICOOC-Chairman was Prof.em Peter Reade.
There were 330 registrants from 22 countries. Keynote speakers were JR.F.Bernier (Switzerland), M.Patridge and S.Porter from UK, R.Ord and R.S.Weber from the U.S. and H.Schliephake (Germany). 22 presentations were to judge for five Young Investigator Awards.
